DE:CODED is a large-scale computer art festival that will gather amazing people, who work, live and breathe with technology. The event will take place on June 3-5 in Lviv – IT and cultural capital of Ukraine.

Design

Design is a section for those, who can center-pop, curve, grid modules and adjust layers, for those, who know that the line spacing for Web should differ from the one for Print, and who know the difference between a golden-section and a rule of thirds; for those, who know that you-have-to-do-this-damned-usertesting-end-off! and that you may get a spanking by a tablet pen for the disordered layers or for printing in .JPG.
And if you can’t do that / don’t know how – sweep it under the carpet, come and learn!

Developer

1. You know C ++, Python, Java, .net: – you definitely need to take part in Game Dev Compo. You can write a game in advance, finish it up, coming to the fest, and then upload it on the server until the specified deadline. All the participants, guests of the festival, and everyone interested around the world, using online streaming, will see your game on the big screen, in addition – every visitor of the festival will be able to play it.

2. The essence of the competition is to combine video sequence with audio accompaniment, and fit it in 4 kilobytes. This is an opportunity to speak out and make conceptual visuals with sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXAIGDDMVo0.

3. For all the very tough ones, we’ll have a 1K competition.
4. If 1 or 4 kilobytes is not enough for you, there will be a 8K competition.

6. If you know how to program masterpieces, register and we will conduct contests among raider developers, who will try to prove themselves directly at the festival in the real time.

Robotics

Attention! The rise of the machines! Bots have filled all areas of existence without any vivid emotions and aesthetics.

The “Robotics” dimension at the DE: CODED festival will show:
• How the programmed Lego robots, created by children, will compete in “RoboSumo”;
• How students and robotics guru will start their autonomous robots on the track, which, in their turn, will compete with each other in the style of the “DeathRace” movie, the fastest robot will win;
• How the factory-supplied KUKA robot arm will perform art, will trace out the calligraphy of Eastern countries

During the two days of the festival, every visitor will be able to participate in the radio guided cars’ competitions on a professional track for the Roborace auto bots’ competition.
We will also show you how to build your own robot and how to teach him to make decisions. We will create a space, where the bright minds of Robotics will share their knowledge, and where everyone willing will plunge into the mysterious world of robots.
