A lack of a criminal record of third country citizens is confirmed by an extract from the National Criminal Register. It is also necessary to provide such an extract from the Criminal Register of the country where third country citizens have spent more than 90 days within a continuous 6-month period over the past 3 years.

Your police clearance certificate must be certified with an Apostille if the government that issued this document is not a signer of the Hague Convention that had abolished the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents. Such countries have institutions responsible for legalizing documents.

If your country is not a signer of the abovementioned convention, your document must undergo a procedure of authentication of foreign documents that is called consular legalization.

All police clearances issued by foreign countries must be translated into the Slovak language by a court interpreter, registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic.
